FRESHMAN GOLDING LEADS HAWKS TO 3-1 ROAD WIN OVER ST. CLAIR

WINDSOR, ON: Freshman sensation Breanna Golding, just back to the Hawks lineup after a brief illness, came off the bench to lead the Hawks (14-0, 1st West) to a 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-17) over the St. Clair Saints (9-4, 3rd West).

The Saints were ready for Humber, and proved that by dominating the first set on their way to a solid 25-17 win over the Hawks. Every aspect of the game was controlled by the home team, especially from the service line.

The Hawks, as they have done all year responded in the second set, much on the heels of Breanna Golding. Golding was inserted into the lineup late in the first, but truly found her legs from the second set on. This addition to the Hawks lineup, and with much better passing gave Hawks setter Gabie Miletic an extra option, and she was able to start to pick apart the St. Clair lineup. Although tight into the mid-teens, Humber found separation and went on to win 25-18.

The next two sets was a combination of Humber playing better, and the Saints looking a bit weary. Unlike the first set, St. Clair lost their serving touch, going too deep on a number of occasions. Humber won by identical scores of 25-17.

The statistics were not available at press time, but will be added as soon as they are.

Humber will take to the court once again on Thursday night at home, as they will entertain the Redeemer Royals. The first serve, from the Humber Athletic Centre, is set for 6:00 pm
