No. 11 Women's Soccer Extend Win Streak to Six With Win Over UTM, 7-0

VAUGHAN – No. 11 Humber women's soccer (6-1-1, 2nd West) concluded its home schedule Wednesday at the Ontario Soccer Centre, defeating the UTM Eagles (1-6-1, 8th West), 7-0. Catarina Medeiros led the Hawks offensively, finishing with a goal and three assists, while Courtney Nadeau made her second start of the season, earning the clean sheet.

Humber opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Catarina Medeiros made a perfect pass that split three UTM defenders, finding Krystina Carvalho for her second goal of the season.

Medeiros was back at it minutes later, this time sending a ball into the box, right on to the boot of Emma Stushnoff, who buried her second goal in as many games.

In the 23rd minute, Medeiros once again found Stushnoff, who danced around three Eagle defenders in the box for her third tally of the season.

As the half neared a close, Krystina Carvalho stole the ball and made a chip pass to Breanna Senfner, who made a quick touch to blow by the defender and buried her shot in the top corner of the net.

Humber continued to dominate the second half of the match, rarely allowing the Eagles to move the ball passed half.

In the 72nd minute, Medeiros found herself just outside the 18-yard box and fired a strike to the back of the net to extend Humber's lead to six.

Less than four minutes later, the Hawks got on the board again on a goal from Claudia Piazza. Piazza made a nice through pass to Senfner who then crossed back to the box and Piazza tapped it off of the post and in for Humber's seventh and final goal of the match.
