HAWKS UNABLE TO FIND STRIDE IN EARLY SEASON EXHIBITION LOSSES

MONTREAL, QUE: The Humber Hawks women's soccer team, 2017 OCAA Outdoor silver and 2018 OCAA Indoor Soccer gold medalists, dropped their second consecutive game on Quebec soil and have yet to find the win column in exhibition play this season.

Humber dropped a 5-1 game to the Markham Lightning to open up the exhibition season, and then a 2-0 affair on the first leg of their Quebec exhibition swing to Dawson College.

On Tuesday night, Humber was unable to find solid footing in a match against a strong team from Cegep Ahuntsic. The host Indians dropped the Etobicoke club by a score of 6-0. Humber trailed 2-0 at the half, and then allowed four more to complete the whitewash.

To the Hawks credit, the coaching staff is using these games to get good looks at the entire roster, and Humber has yet to settle or play their best 11 for any extended period of time.

"Quebec has traditionally produced the best teams in the country", said assistant coach Jose Caro. "Having an opportunity to play teams at this level early in the season is a huge positive to us, no matter the result. These games will prepare us for conference play, and give us an idea of what we need to do at the next level".

Humber will complete the Quebec tour today, as they will kick-off against Lionel-Groulx at 12:00 noon.
