Another Tournament Sweep for Rugby Sevens

OAKVILLE – Humber rugby sevens (6-0, 1st West) kept its undefeated record intact on Saturday, sweeping its second straight tournament to begin the season. The Hawks extended their OCAA win streak to 13 consecutive matches, moving to 2-0 against Sheridan, Seneca, Conestoga.

After making quick work of Sheridan, Humber battled the always tough Seneca Sting. Christina Branch opened the scoring for the Hawks, picking up the ball at Humber's try line and racing the entire distance of the field for the try. Shortly after, Cheyenne De Luca did the same, sprinting from end-to-end untouched. The Hawks led 24-0 before the Sting scored back-to-back tries in the last four minutes of game time.

Christina Branch led all scorer's with 36 points – four tries and eight converts. Cheyenne De Luca finished with 35 points on seven tries. Through six games, De Luca has 13 tries and is on pace to break Michaela Knowles' (2016) OCAA single-season record of 26 tries.
