WOMEN'S RUGBY SEVENS ROLL TO THREE STRAIGHT WINS ON OPENING DAY

OAKVILLE, ON: The Humber Hawks women's rugby seven's team showed dominance on the opening day of regular season play at Sheridan College on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks opened the day with a 42-0 whitewashing of the host Sheridan Bruins.

Scoring:
Cheyenne De Luca, three tries, 15 points
Christina Branch, three tries, six converts, 27 points (ties career-high and OCAA record)

They followed up that win with a 38-0 win over Seneca, in a rematch of the 2017 OCAA championship game.

Daniella Grant, one try, five points
Christina Branch, four converts, eight points
Cheyenne De Luca, five tries (Humber record and ties OCAA record), 25 points

The final game of the day was a tighter affair, with Humber completed a long day of play with a 22-10 win over Conestoga.

Sarah Bothen, one try (first career try), five points
Bianca Pienaar, one try, one convert, seven points
Essence Palmer-McCarthy, two tries (first career try), ten points

Humber completed the day at 3-0 and sits in first place of the West Division. Seneca comes in second, while Sheridan sits third and Conestoga, who was winless on the day, last.
