Women’s Golf Win OCAA Championship, McCallum Crowned Individual Champion

KINGSTON – Dominating from start-to-finish, No. 3 Humber women's golf team earned its tenth OCAA Championship Oct. 2 at Catarqui Golf & Country Club. Second-year Hayley McCallum, meanwhile, gave Humber the individual champion for the first time since 2014.

McCallum earned her second collegiate tournament victory of the season, finishing 21 strokes over par to win the title by six strokes. The Mississauga native used a tournament-low 79 on day two to take a three-stroke lead into the final day.

Elaine Surjoprajogo captured the individual bronze, finishing 32-over par in her first OCAA Championship appearance for the Hawks. As a team, the duo won the team title by 29 strokes, cruising to the final round win over Fanshawe (+82) and Georgian (+88).

Hayley McCallum was named a CCAA All-Canadian for the second straight year, joining D'Alessio, Peel, Trainer, and Wilde as the only student-athletes to complete the feat. McCallum and Surjoprajogo were also named to the All-Ontario team.

No. 3 women's golf will now set its sights on the 2019 CCAA National Championship at Continental Golf Club in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec from Oct. 15 to 18.
