McCALLUM AND BANTON FINISH ON PODIUM AT OCAA GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

KOMOKA, Ont – The No. 5 Humber women's golf team finished second at the OCAA Championship Wednesday afternoon at FireRock Golf Course. Trailing by 18 strokes heading into the final round, the Hawks strung together their best round of the tournament but fell three strokes shy of capturing the program's tenth provincial title.

Fanshawe (174, 172, 186 – 532) finished in first place, while Humber (184-180-171 – 535) was not able to overcome its slow start to the tournament.

Playing in her first provincial tournament, Hayley McCallum (92,84,76) saved her best round for last, shooting a tournament-low three-over par to capture the individual silver medal. It was McCallum's second podium finish this season, and she became the 16th golfer in program history to be named a CCAA All-Canadian.

Teammate Olivia Banton (92, 96, 95) captured the individual bronze medal and Humber recorded a double podium finish for the eighth time in program history.

Nadia Marrast (92, 105, 104) finished in a tie for fifth.
