No. 5 Women’s Basketball Hits Century Mark in Win Over Niagara

WELLAND – No. 5 Humber women's basketball cruised to an easy road victory at Niagara on Thursday evening, 105-60. Freshman Kia Watt dropped a game-high 20 points in the win, finishing seven-for-14 from the floor.

The Hawks jumped out to an early lead, opening the game on a 13-0 run.

Jahnae Gyles finished with 14 points, while Amber Bechard and Miea Campbell-Johnson rounded out Humber's double-digit scorer's recording 12 points, each.

The story of the night was Teresa Da Silva, who recorded her first bucket in a Humber uniform. Three devastating knee injuries have prevented Da Silva from playing for Humber since Coach Sharma signed her in August, 2017. The Etobicoke native played a career-high 14 minutes, recording two rebounds, two steals, and an assist.

Humber finished with a season-high 56 rebounds and 23 steals, surpassing the century mark for the first time since Jan. 2018.
