No. 10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BEATS GEORGIAN, ADVANCES TO FINAL EIGHT

MISSISSAUGA, Ont – Advancing to the OCAA Final Eight, No. 10 Humber (16-2 2nd West) cruised to an easy crossover victory against Georgian (3-14, 7th East). The Hawks will now play in the OCAA Championship tournament Feb. 28 – Mar. 2, hosted by St. Lawrence College.

Playing with its shortest bench of the season, Humber led wire-to-wire, picking up its 13th consecutive postseason win. Leticia Lopez filled the stat sheet, finishing with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Brittania Brown added 13 points, while Jaime Gordon and Hamida Tejan-Cole both recorded career-highs, finishing with 12 points, each.

Playing a game-high 36 minutes, Brittney English grabbed ten rebounds and dished out six assists.

Humber's defence smothered the Grizzlies all night and did not allow Georgian to score more than nine points in any quarter. Lopez caught fire in the second quarter, scoring 12 points from beyond the arc (four-of-eight), while Georgian managed a game-low four points in the frame.

No. 10 Humber will now await its quarter-final opponent on Feb. 28.
