The Storyline
No. 11 Humber women's basketball (17-2, 2nd West) will conclude the regular season Feb. 15 at Sheridan (15-4, 3rd West). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
The Matchup
All-time, the Hawks are 6-9 (.400) on the road at Sheridan; however, Humber is currently on a ten-game winning streak against the Bruins.
Scouting Sheridan
- The Bruins have won ten of their last 12 games; with both losses coming on the road.
- Sheridan features two players in the top-ten in scoring: Theresa Brown (17.1 PPG) and Sydney Charvis (16.1 PPG).
- The Bruins have clinched the third seed in the west division and will host Loyalist in a crossover game.
Previous Meeting
On Nov. 7, the Bruins came to the North Campus Gym with a four-game winning streak and national ranking at 14. After nine lead changes through the first three quarters, Humber's defence held the Bruins to eight points in the final frame to pick up the win, 71-56.
Miea Campbell-Johnson finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Leticia Lopez added 14 points, ten rebounds, six assists, and six steals.
Humber's defence held the duo of Charvis/Brown to 28 combined points on 26.3 per cent (10-of-38) shooting from the floor.
2019 Postseason
The Hawks have secured the second-seed in the West and will host the Georgian Grizzlies (3-13, 7th East). Date and time have yet to be determined.
Humber will be appearing in its 29th consecutive postseason. The last time the Hawks failed to qualify for the playoffs was during the 1989-90 season, after finishing their first season in Division I with a 5-7 record.
Sharpshooters
Through 19 games, Humber has hit a league-best 152 3-pointers. Leticia Lopez is leading the team with 58 triples – ten shy of the OCAA single-season record.
Milestones
In Wednesday's win over Mohawk, Leticia Lopez moved into tenth all-time on Humber's career scoring list.
Jahnae Gyles needs 15 points to become the 14th member of Humber's 500-point club.
