NIAGARA AWAITS No. 11 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL AT HOME THURSDAY

The Storyline
No. 11 Humber women's basketball (14-2, 2nd West) returns home Feb. 7 when the Niagara Knights (9-7, 6th West) visit the North Campus Gym. The game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network at 6 p.m. with Andrew Milani and Adam Lucier on the call, and Danielle Dupuis reporting from the sidelines.

The Matchup
Humber will conclude its regular season series with Niagara on Thursday. All-time, the Hawks own an 18-4 record against the Knights at home and have won 12 straight meetings against Niagara.

Scouting Niagara

• Through 16 games, the Knights are fourth in the league in steals, averaging 13.8 per game.
• Bridget Atkinson is third in the league in scoring, averaging 18.1 PPG.  In Niagara's win over Redeemer on Jan. 14, Atkinson finished with 37 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 steals.
• Niagara's last win at Humber came in a 58-53 win on Feb. 20, 2013.

Previous Meeting
On Nov. 1, Humber held the Knights to three second-half points in a 73-28 win at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. Leticia Lopez finished with a game-high 21 points, while Makeba Taylor finished with a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Defence Wins Championships
The Hawks are holding opponents to a league-low 29.5 per cent (314-of-1,080) shooting from the floor.

Boarding
Humber is the top rebounding team in the province, averaging 52.6 RPG.

Second-year guard Makeba Taylor is averaging 5.2 assists-per-game - the top mark in the division.

Senior Leticia Lopez continues to leave her mark on the Humber record books. With four games remaining, Lopez needs 29 points to move into top-10 on Humber's career scoring list.
