The Storyline
No. 11 Humber women's basketball (11-1, 2nd West) will welcome No. 2 Fanshawe (11-1, 1st West) Sunday afternoon to the North Campus Gym.
The game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network at 1 p.m. with Matt Hamel and Adam Lucier on the call, and Danielle Dupuis reporting from the sidelines.
The Matchup
The top-ranked programs in the province will meet for the second time this season. Humber owns a 19-8 (.708) regular season home record against Fanshawe, including five consecutive wins.
Scouting Fanshawe
- The Falcons have won three straight OCAA medals, including a silver medal last season after falling to the Hawks in the final, 69-54.
- Fanshawe features the top-scoring offence in the province, averaging 82.1 PPG through 12 games this season. OCAA all-star Chuot Angou is leading the team with a scoring average of 16.7.
- The Falcons are 6-0 this season away from London, with their only loss this season occurring at home against St. Clair, 78-67.
Previous Meeting
Fanshawe's 79-51 victory over Humber to open the season snapped the Hawks' 81-game win streak against OCAA opponents. Jahnae Gyles finished with a game-high 19 points in the loss, as the Falcons outscored the Hawks 24-7 in the final quarter.
Flying High
In Wednesday's win over UTM, Humber established new season-highs in rebounds (66), steals (18), and blocks (8).
Home Sweet Home
The Hawks have won 46 consecutive regular season games at the North Campus Gym, dating back to the end of the '14 season. Humber is approaching its all-time record of 54 straight wins at home, a streak that ran from 1995 to 2003.
From Downtown
Senior sniper Leticia Lopez – who ranks second all-time in program history with 96 three-pointers made – has hit a league-best 44 triples this season. Lopez is currently on pace to break Kelly Killoran's (Fleming – 2012-13) OCAA record of 68.
