NATIONAL CHAMPIONS SIGN BRITTANIA BROWN

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- The reigning CCAA national champions have signed guard Brittania Brown for the upcoming 2018-19 varsity season, announced head coach Ajay Sharma.

Brown, a five-foot-six guard from Toronto, played three seasons with the University of Winnipeg Wesmen (USports) from 2013 – 2016.

"We are excited to have Brittania Brown join our storied program," said Coach Sharma, the program's all-time winningest coach. "She is a tireless worker who plays with the kind of toughness and grit we like at Humber."

Before playing with Wesman, Brown competed for the Toronto Triple Threat and the Runnymede C.I. Ravens in high school.

"I chose Humber College because I felt it was the best place for me to succeed both academically and athletically," said Brown.  "Humber offers a great sport management program and has the top women's basketball program in the country."

Brown has enrolled in the Sport Management program, a three-year advanced diploma at Humber College.

"I enjoy physical and health education," Brown said when asked why she chose her program. "My future career goals include becoming a community impact manager and basketball instructor."

No stranger to Humber basketball, Brown has ties to current players and coaches. At Runnymede C.I., she was teammates with 2018 OCAA All-Rookie team selection Makeba Taylor, and she currently works at Elite Camps with assistant coach Aycha Hamaoui.

The Hawks are coming off their second national title in program history, finishing the year with a 26-0 record.
