ETOBICOKE, Ont -- After the dust settled on the OCAA season Sunday afternoon, the 2018 OCAA Women's Basketball Championship field of eight is now officially set.

The Humber College department of athletics and recreation will host the three-day tournament from Mar. 2-4 at the North Campus Gym. The Final Eight tournament will feature the top programs in the province, with the winner advancing to the CCAA National Championship in Sackville, NB.

The tournament is loaded with championship experience, as each program has claimed at least one title in their history. The Fanshawe Falcons pace the way with their record 11 OCAA gold medals, while the Humber Hawks will try to defend their title for the fourth straight season.

The event will kick off Thursday evening with the championship awards dinner at the Holiday Inn and doors will open at 6 p.m. Award winners will be announced live throughout the banquet via the OCAA twitter account.

A total of 11 games will be played in three days, with the quarter-finals beginning Mar. 1 at 1 p.m. The winning teams will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, while the losing teams will be relegated to the consolation bracket.

Admission is free for everyone, and each game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.
