SHARMA BECOMES ALL-TIME WINNINGEST COACH IN WIN OVER FANSHAWE

LONDON, Ont – Ajay Sharma surpassed Jim Henderson as the all-time winningest coach in program history as Humber beat No. 11 Fanshawe, 65-54, Saturday evening at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre.

Senior Ceejay Nofuente recorded another double-double, finishing with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Aleena Domingo added 13 points and nine rebounds, while Jahnae Gyles and Miea Campbell-Johnson finished with 11 and ten points, respectively, for Humber (18-0, 1st West).

The Falcons (14-3, 3rd West) were paced by Ali Vlasman with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Mikhaila Wright added ten points and 11 boards.

After jumping out to a quick 8-2 lead, Humber struggled defensively, allowing Fanshawe to end the quarter on an 11-2 run.  After ten minutes of play, the Hawks trailed 20-14.

The Falcons increased their lead to eight before Humber began a 10-1 run to end the second quarter, capped off by a Ceejay Nofuente jumper to give the Hawks a one-point lead at the half.

After the break, Humber used 12-0 run in the third to pull away from Fanshawe for good.

For the game, Humber shot a season-low 32.5 percent (25-of-77), including 2-of-21 from 3-point range.

• The Hawks have shot 75 percent or higher from the free throw line for the third time this season.
• Humber's defence continues to create turnovers and has recorded 15-plus steals in every game this season.

• In his seventh season, Ajay Sharma became the all-time winningest head coach in Humber women's basketball history, surpassing Hall of Famer Jim Henderson's (1991 – 2000) mark of 133 wins.

• The Hawks shot 9.5 percent (2-of-21) from 3-point range, its lowest percentage this season.

No. 1 Humber returns to the North Campus Gym Feb. 17 against St. Clair (10-6, 4th West) for its final regular season home game. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
