No. 1 HUMBER EXTENDS WIN STREAK WITH 98-31 WIN AT UTM

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Top-ranked Humber women's basketball (17-0, 1st West) posted a 98-31 win on the road at UTM (5-12, 8th West) Wednesday evening. Senior Aleena Domingo paced the Hawks with 14 points and six rebounds, on 7-of-11 shooting (63.6 percent) from the floor.

Jahnae Gyles added a team-high 14 points as well, while Miea Campbell-Johnson rounded out Humber's double-digit scorers with 12 points. Felicia Velasquez finished with a season-high nine assists, and Ceejay Nofuente ended with seven steals and three blocked shots.

Head coach Ajay Sharma earned his 133rd career win at Humber, tying Hall of Famer Jim Henderson as the all-time leader in program wins.

Nofuente opened the scoring for Humber, stealing her league-leading 126th pass that led to an easy layup. The Hawks scored the games first 27 points before UTM was able to get on the board with less than a minute remaining in the opening frame.

Humber's top-ranked defence continued to press in the second quarter, forcing the Eagles in 14 turnovers in the first half. After 20 minutes of play, the Hawks led 47-14 21-of-45), shooting 46.7 percent from the floor.

Humber held UTM to 17 total points in the second half, extending its lead with another 20-0 run to end the third quarter.
