THE FIELD IS SET FOR THE 2018 NCBC TOURNAMENT

ETOBICOKE, Ont – The field for the 2018 National College Baseball Championship is set, and the six teams have been determined. This seasons tournament will feature teams from coast-to-coast. Explore all six teams below.

Pool A

St. Clair Saints (17-7, 2nd OCAA)
 Windsor, Ontario

  • The Saints are the defending NCBC Champions, defeating Fanshawe, 2-1, in last year’s final.
  • St. Clair is 9-2 (.818) all-time at the NCBC tournament.
  • St. Clair is led by Dave Cooper, a two-time OCAA Coach of the Year award recipient.
  • The Saints won the OCAA silver medal this season, ending their streak of five-straight provincial titles.

Thompson River Wolfpack (17-18, CCBC)
Kamloops, British Columbia

  • The TRU Wolfpack is led by head coach Ray Chadwick, currently in his 15th season as head coach.
  • 3 x CCBC Champions (2005, 2007, 2009).
  • First-time participant at the NCBC tournament.
  • Lost to Okanagan College – eventual CCBC winners – in the semifinals back in May.
  • Currently 17-6 in Fall Ball exhibition schedule.

Fanshawe Falcons (11-12, 3rd OCAA)
London, Ontario

  • The Falcons won the inaugural NCBC championship in 2016, beating St. Clair, 2-1, in the finals.
  • Fanshawe is 7-3 (.700) all-time at the NCBC tournament.
  • The Falcons are led by fifth-year head coach Brian Harvey.
  • Fanshawe won the OCAA bronze medal, its fourth straight season with a top-three finish in the province.

Humber Hawks (20-3, 1st OCAA)
Etobicoke, Ontario

  • Humber captured its first OCAA title this season, finishing the tournament 3-0, outscoring its opponents 27-7.
  • The Hawks will be making their third straight appearance in the NCBC tournament, with an all-time record of 3-4.
  • Humber is led by first-year head coach Matt Ferreira, who was named 2018 OCAA Coach of the Year.

  • Since 2014, the Hurricanes have a regular-season record of 65-5 against Atlantic Canadian opponents.
  • Holland is led by head coach Andrew MacNevin, currently in his fifth season at the helm.
  • Holland has played in the two previous NCBC tournaments, accumulating a 3-7 (.300) record over that span.

  • Ahuntsic is led by head coach Luis Argumedes.

All 11 games at Connorvale Park will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network, and admission to the tournament is free for all spectators.
