HUMBER COLLEGE SET TO HOST 2018 NATIONAL COLLEGE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

ETOBICOKE, Ont – Humber College is getting set to welcome the top intercollegiate baseball teams in the country from Oct. 25 – 27, for the 2018 National College Baseball Championship.

All but two games in the 13-game schedule will be played at Connorvale Park during the three-day tournament. The Humber Hawks will be kicking off the tournament against the Holland Hurricanes at 10 a.m.

2018 marks the third year of existence for the tournament, with the previous two events being hosted by Durham College. The Fanshawe Falcons won the inaugural tournament in 2016, followed by the St. Clair Saints in 2017.

This year, Canadian college baseball will be well represented, with teams from coast-to-coast participating. Thompson River University – from British Columbia – will be making its first-ever appearance in the tournament.

OCAA baseball will once again be well represented. The top finisher in the provincial championship will join the defending champion St. Clair Saints and the Humber Hawks.

The Ahuntsic Indiens will represent Quebec, while the undefeated Holland Hurricanes will be travelling from Prince Edward Island.

All 11 games at Connorvale Park will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network. Admission to the tournament will be free of charge.
