No. 2 Men's Volleyball Adds Another OCAA Win at St. Clair, 3-0

WINDSOR – No. 2 men's volleyball continued its OCAA dominance, finishing the two-game weekend with a straight-set sweep over the St. Clair (3-4, 7th West). The final set scores were 25-11, 25-12 and 25-16.

The nationally-ranked Hawks got straight to business in the first two sets against St. Clair, with Andrew Blakey taking early control over the net and earning the first two points of the game with a kill, followed by a block. Humber displayed an effective defence, converting everything the Saints threw at them into an aggressive offence. Service runs by Jaydon Milnes and Safon Manning eased the Hawks advantage to double digits, which was soon followed by victories at 25-11 and 25-12.

Freshman Christopher Bowen started the Hawks off on a positive note in the final set, earning a five-point service run for the team. Humber continued to build on their success, nailing down 30 kills while only making two tactical errors. Senior Andrew Blakey earned back-to-back blocks for the Hawks, placing the Hawks in a comfortable lead. Remaining above the Saints by four or more points through the duration of the game, Humber's Jaydon Milne finalized the set at 25-16 with a right-side kill.

The lead scorers in the match were Rrezart Sadiku, with 11 kills and a block, and Jaydon Milne, with eight kills and four digs.

  • Humber played its best game of the season offensively, earning 30 kills out of 56 attempts and a hitting percentage of .500.
  • Third-year setter Jake Gomes continues to inch closer to 1,000 career assists and now has 899 in 40 career matches.
