REGULAR SEASON HISTORY VS SHERIDAN

Humber is 39-15 in all-time regular season match-ups with Sheridan, with the majority of those losses coming in the Bruins heyday of the late 80's and early 90's. Since January of 1995, Humber has won 39 games, while losing only 3.

LAST TIME OUT VS SHERIDAN

The two teams last met on November 21st at Sheridan, with Humber sweeping the match in three straight sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-22). As indicated in the scores, Humber dominated the first set. The next two were close at the end, but the Hawks were in control of their own destiny much of the way, leading throughout. Kamyn Wilkins led Humber with 14 offensive points, while Jake Gomes led the team in digs and aces. Rookie Rafael Hilario contributed three blocks. Pavir Jhajj hit for double figures in points, with 10 on the night.

SCOUTING SHERIDAN

  • After a good 3-2 start, the Bruins have cooled off and are in the midst of a four game losing streak
  • With two teams struggling at the bottom of the division with a single win between the two teams, Sheridan is comfortably in apposition to advance,  but they are looking to move up and hopefully be in a position to host a cross-over playoff game
  • Statistically, they sit in the middle to low of the pack of most team categories, topping out in the 12th spot in a few categories, but dropping off considerably in others. This comes to light quickly in their blocking numbers, placing 19th among the 20 teams in block  and blocks per set average

BRUINS – BY THE NUMBERS

  • Points per Set Average – Parvir Jhajj (3.9)
  • Kills – Parvir Jhajj (59)
  • Assists – Po-an Chien (225)
  • Service Aces – Liam Butcherreit (13)
  • Digs – Liam Butcherreit (64)
  • Blocks – Marcus Ahmadzai (10)

HAWK NOTES

  • Humber needs to produce a second half similar to the first, to put itself in a solid position moving into the playoffs, and hopefully a better path to the championship games. Two OCAA teams will advance to the CCAA Nationals this year
  • Five of the Hawks final nine games will be on home court, including two in three days to open up the second half
  • Humber will play in the York University Invitational on January 4-6/19
  • As a team, the Hawk rank in the top half of most categories, topping out at third in kills and assist per set, and hitting percentage, but fall off considerably in blocks and blocks per set (16th)

HAWKS – BY THE NUMBERS
