HAWKS END TWO MATCH NORTHERN SWING WITH WIN 3-1 OVER NIPISSING

Recap by Aideena Wickstrom

NORTH BAY, ON: The mens volleyball team got back onto the court this afternoon to once again play the Nipissing Lakers in an intense battle which would hopefully lead them to a rightfully placed win.

Right off the bat, the game became a competitive struggle for the lead. With both teams consistently keeping each other on their toes, they went back and forth on points until the Lakers snuck away from Humber with a set win of 25-23.

The following set was no different than the first, bringing point for point, the best out of both teams. Determined to take a set off of the Lakers, the Hawks refused to let up their defence. As the teams continued to battle back and forth for points, Humber was able to take the lead, and pull away with a tight 25-23 win.

In set three, both teams continued to execute sharply in what was only their second match of the season. The Hawks preyed on the Lakers, soaring into the lead with the opposition trailing just behind. As the men strengthened their offence, they snagged the third set at 25-18.

Hyped from their last two set wins, and determined to get revenge on their last nights loss, the Hawks went into the fourth set with the mind set of finishing the game. Starting the set with high intensity, the two teams competed closely for the lead. After dozens of rallies and kills, Humber was able to put the ball away more efficiently, giving them the win of 25-20.

With their whole roster making it for the game, opposed to last night, the Hawks got their vengeance on last nights loss as they were able to show the Lakers what they are really made of.
