BARRIE, ON: The Humber Hawks and Fanshawe Falcons have been recognized all year as the top two teams in the province, and on Saturday night at Georgian College in Barrie they will have the opportunity to decide who is number one. The teams will battle for OCAA gold and a trip to the CCAA Nationals at 5:00 pm.
Humber advanced with a solid quarter-final win over Conestoga, and then an inspiring 3-0 sweep over the East's top team Georgian Grizzlies, on the Grizzlies home court in front of a large home partisan crowd. Fanshawe swept easily through bothe Fleming in the quarter-final, and then a tough Redeemer team in the semi-finals.
Humber and Fanshawe met twice this year in regular season play. The Falcons won 3-1 in London early in the season, and 3-0 at Humber recently. Of note at the game a few weeks ago, the second set was incredible, with Fanshawe winning 41-39.
