HAWKS NEED EXTRA POINTS TWICE ON WAY TO SWEEP AT CONESTOGA

KITCHENER, ON: The Humber Hawks men's volleyball team (10-2, 2nd West) swept the Conestoga Condors (5-8, 8th West) in three straight very tight sets (28-26, 25-22, 27-25) to run their winning streak to nine consecutive games.

The first and third sets mirrored each other, as the Hawks held leads of 24-22 before seeing he host Condors battle back to force extra points. The middle set was tight as well, but Humber did not allow Conestoga an opening.

It took a middle attack that went long from the Condors to close out the match in the third.

Individually, Hawk third-year star Clayton Blanchette is hitting his stride, as he led the team with 14 points (12K, 2B). Dylan Devecseri contributed 12 points on the night (10K, 1A, 1B)

The Hawks will be back on the floor this coming Friday at home, as they will entertain the Mohawk Mountaineers. It was the win at Mohawk that started the Hawks current nine-game unbeaten string. The first serve is set for 6:00 pm
