CANADA BEACH VOLLEYBALL PLAYER SIGNS WITH HUMBER

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- Humber Hawks men's volleyball head coach Wayne Wilkins is pleased to announce the signing of former Team Canada beach volleyball standout, Dylan Devecseri.

A six-foot-five outside hitter, Devecseri joins the Hawks after spending time with the Aurora Storm and Eastview Wildcats.

"I'm extremely pleased to have Dylan join the Hawks this season," said three-time OCAA coach of the year Wayne Wilkins.  "He's a big time player that brings a big block, explosive scoring power and extensive experience after playing for Canada and internationally."

As a member of the 18u Aurora Storm, Devecseri won a provincial silver medal and was an NTCC Champion with Team Ontario as the starting left side.

The Barrie native has enrolled in the Fitness and Health Promotions program at Humber College and will begin his freshman season at North Campus this Fall.

"I chose Humber College for three reasons," said Devecseri.  "The amazing facilities, great academic opportunities, and of course, the volleyball program."

With international playing experience, Devecseri will be working with Humber to help further his Team Canada involvement.

"His biggest asset is his hard work ethic, along with his ability to lead and motivate his teammates," added Coach Wilkins.  "We are expecting big things from Dylan as he helps us get back to the national stage to win another championship."

Devecseri, along with incoming recruits Jackson Brear, Alex Bowden, David Fountain, and Jake Gomes, will join the rest of the Humber Hawks volleyball team on the first day of tryouts on September 5 at the North Campus Gym.
