HAWKS BOLSTER ROSTER WITH ADDITION OF BOWDEN

ETOBICOKE, Ont -- Dynamic outside hitter Alex Bowden has committed to the Humber Hawks men's volleyball program for the upcoming 2017-18 season, announced head coach Wayne Wilkins.

The six-foot-three outside hitter from Guelph joins the Hawks from the John F. Ross CVI high school program, and the Pakmen club volleyball system.

"We're very excited to have Alex join our squad," said three-time OCAA coach of the year Wayne Wilkins.  "Alex was an extremely sought-after commodity this recruiting year, and we're happy to have such a strong, dedicated and talented player choose Humber College. We expect big things from Alex in the near future."

Named most valuable player of the D10 championship in his senior year at John F. Ross, Alex has been playing competitive volleyball for nine years.

When asked why he chose Humber College, Bowden immediately responded with two words: "Coach Wilkins."

No stranger to Hawks volleyball, Bowden knows and has played with multiple student-athletes who currently don the blue and gold.  On the list is reigning OCAA scoring champion Clayton Blanchette, Adam Kinoshita, and Nicolas Quiben.

The outside hitter will enroll in Humber's general arts and science program beginning in September 2017.

Bowden, along with incoming recruits Jackson Brear, Dean Myrie, David Fountain, and Jake Gomes, will join the rest of the Humber Hawks volleyball team on the first day of tryouts on September 5 at the North Campus Gym.
