The Humber Hawks captured the 2018 CCAA national championship, finishing the season with a 13-1-2 record.

ETOBICOKE – The top soccer program in the country will begin its title defence on September 6, opening the 2019 campaign at Niagara.

2018 Highlights

  • The Hawks captured the national championship in Prince Edward Island, defeating Ahuntsic 1-0 in the CCAA title match. Humber became the most decorated program in the country, becoming the first team to win seven CCAA titles.
  • Humber soccer extended its CCAA tournament win streak to an unprecedented 16 consecutive matches.
  • At provincials, Humber beat Sheridan, 2-1, to win the program's 12th OCAA title - the most in the province.

At the Helm
Head coach Michael Aquino returns for his seventh season, leading the Hawks to four national titles since 2013. Coach Aquino will begin the '19 campaign with a record of 76-4-6 (.919). Ricardo Fonseca, Jason Mesa, and Alessandro Sabatini will return for another season on Humber's coaching staff.

Pushing Forward
Humber soccer will look to the leadership of Cody Green, Federico Leal, Alex Baez, and Michael Fayehun to help with the turnover from the 2018 season. The Hawks will be without four of their top-five goal scorer's this season and Leal will look to record double-digit tallies for the first time in his OCAA career.

Keeper Nick Frenati returns for his third season with a career record of 8-1-2. He's recorded four clean sheets in 12 career games.

Fresh Faces
Coach Aquino shocked the CCAA circuit, announcing a stacked 2019 recruiting class. 11 new recruits will represent the Hawks this season, with ten of those recruits coming from League1 Ontario.
