No. 2 MEN'S SOCCER ESCAPE UTM WITH 4-3 VICTORY

MISSISSAUGA, Ont – The No. 2 Humber men's soccer team (5-1, 2nd Central) squeezed out a 4-3 victory over UTM (1-5, 5th Central) Saturday afternoon.

Playing with a depleted roster, Humber returned to the pitch days removed from the program's first regular-season loss since 2013. Mark Barbuto opened the scoring for UTM, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead after ten minutes of play.

In the 34th minute, Federico Leal responded for Humber, tying the game with his fourth tally of the season.

After the break, Humber took the lead when all-star Jaineil Hoilett converted a penalty kick to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. Jamari Whyte responded minutes later for the Eagles, tying the game at two.

In the 59th minute, Leal found the back of the net once again followed by a UTM own goal that gave Humber a 4-2 lead.

With seven minutes remaining, the Eagles were able to score again, however that was as close as UTM could get and Humber escaped with a 4-3 victory.

Freshman Sebastian Zeballos made his second start of the season, recording a save to pick up his second win of the year.
