BALDASSARRE HERO IN HAWKS COMEBACK WIN IN QUEBEC

MONTREAL, QUE: In the second leg of their three-game exhibition set in Montreal, the Hawks rebounded from a 2-0 half-time deficit to defeat the host Ahuntsic Indians by a score of 3-2.

Humber defeated Champlain 1-0 on Sunday to open up their exhibition schedule.

Playing a starting eleven loosely based on players still vying for spots on the 2018 Hawk squad, Humber played well but found themselves down by two at the half. The Hawks coaching staff reached out to a group of returning players, led by striker Luca Baldassarre. The defence stood tall, keeping the Indians at bay in the second half, and it was Baldassarre who took care of the goal scoring. His natural hat trick in the second half did the trick.

Baldassarre should garner a number of votes at season's end for post-season recognition. He was selected as an OCAA Central Division All-Star last season, and led the Hawks in scoring with nine tallies in nine games.

"This was a very good indicator of things to come for our team this year", said Hawks assistant coach Ric Fonseca. "Ahuntsic is one of a number of strong teams from Quebec, and solid results on this trip shows that we are prepared to challenge for provincial and national honours this year".

Humber will complete the Quebec tour today, as they will kick-off against Lionel-Groulx at 2:00 pm.
