Humber Rugby Dominant in Win Over Mohawk, 68-5

ETOBICOKE – Humber rugby (1-1, 2nd West) picked up its first win of the season Friday, defeating the Mohawk Mountaineers (0-2, 6th West) at Valley Field, 68-5.

Richard Sheffield had a big game for the Hawks, scoring 28 points on two tries and nine converts. Sheffield opened the scoring for Humber in the third minute, and Shermar Morris followed with a try of his own seven minutes later.

Mohawk's only score came late in the first half when Daniel Prentice-Chowen picked up a loose ball and sprinted over 60 metres untouched to prevent the shutout.

Gamaliel Bonilla and Shermar Morris scored two tries, each, while Miguel Gabriel, Jean-Claude Mateus, Juan Manago, and Daniel Sheffield each added a try of their own.

What's Next?
Humber rugby will head on the road for the first time this season, taking on the Sheridan Bruins (0-1, 5th West) on Sept. 28. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
