Humber Golf Concludes Season with Seventh-Place Finish

KOMOKA, Ont – Closing the season against the top postsecondary programs in the country, Humber men's golf team placed seventh at the 2019 Canadian University/College Championship, held at FireRock Golf Club.

Cameron Griffin continued his impressive 2018-19 campaign leading the team with a 20th place finish, concluding the four-day tournament shooting three strokes over par (70-72-74-75 – 291).  

All-Canadian Conner Watt finished right behind Griffin at plus-four (73-72-76-71 – 292), recording five birdies in the final round.

Michael Vance, Cameron Brennan, and Luke McLean rounded out the scoring for the Hawks, finishing T41, T44, and T47, respectively.

The UBC Thunderbirds captured their first title since 2016, defeating the Western Mustangs on the first playoff hole. The Thunderbirds erased a nine-stroke advantage by Western entering the final round by shooting a 12-under par as team.

Western golfer Charles Fitzsimmons – in this 13th season with the Mustangs – captured his first individual title, finishing the tournament eight-under par.
