HAWKS DROP 11 STROKES BACK AS FINAL DAY LOOMS – WATT IN GOLD CONTENTION
MEDICINE HAT, ON: After entering the third round in a dead heat with Boomerang d'André-Laurendeau after the first two rounds, one is not sure if the Hawks stumbled or Boomerang just ran away with the round. The Hawks recorded a respectable three over, but the Quebec squad lit it up and finished the day at eight under as a team.
Although Humber may need an incredible turn of events in the fourth and final round, the Hawks still sit 15 strokes better than the third place team.
Individually, Conner Watt, the second round individual leader suffered the same fate to the same team. Boomerang's Laurent Desmarchais carded the best round of the tournament at minus six to take a two stroke lead over the second place Watt.
Watt was solid once again, playing under par for the second consecutive round at minus two. There is a logjam two strokes behind Watt, but a good effort tomorrow could still vault him to individual gold. As well, he will need a solid effort to stand upon the podium.
Watt was the only Humber player under par today, with Luke McLean coming in at par.
