HAWKS TEN STROKES BETTER ON DAY 2 BUT FIND THEMSELVES TIED ATOP LEADERBOARD

MEDICINE HAT, AL: The Humber Hawks turned in their best team score in a number of years at the CCAA Golf Championship on Wednesday in Medicine Hat, but when the dust settled the Boomerang d'André-Laurendeau team was one stroke better. Humber scored a five-under 283, while the Boomerang carded a six-under 282.

Humber entered Day two one stroke up, but now find themselves in a dead heat. The one significant change was the space created by the two teams and the rest of the field. The UFC Cascades are at 296 and 17 strokes off the pace.

The biggest winner of the day was Humber's Conner Watt. His minus-four score today, combined with his minus-one yesterday has vaulted him into the lead on the individual leaderboard by two strokes.

Also of note was Luke McLean's minus-two, and Cameron Brennan bouncing back after an 84 to open the tournament by making up  11 strokes on his way to a 73 today.
