KOMOKA, Ont – The No. 4 Humber men's golf team captured its second consecutive OCAA Championship Wednesday afternoon at FireRock Golf Course. The unit's win advances the Hawks to the CCAA National Championship in Medicine Hat, Alberta Oct. 17-19.

Humber beat the field by four strokes, going 31-over par (297, 296, 290 – 883). No. 10 Fanshawe, playing on its home course, finished 35-over par, while St. Lawrence finished well back in third, shooting 61-over par. Humber placed all five golfers inside the top-ten on the leaderboard.

Cameron Griffin (74-71-74) placed on the podium, finishing six-over par to capture the individual silver medal. It was Griffin's best finish this season, and he became the 29th Humber golfer to be named a CCAA All-Canadian.

2017 OCAA Champion Conner Watt (76-75-71) made a late charge up the leaderboard but fell short of a podium finish, recording a nine-over par tournament. Luke McLean (74-78-71) finished 10-over par in eighth place, while Michael Vance (73-77-74) and Cameron Brennan (77-73-74) finished tied in ninth place.

The win marks the 21st team medal in program history, the most by any team in the province.

For head coach Nick Trichillo, it's his fourth provincial title in six years.
