Men’s Basketball Rallies to Beat Niagara in OT, 95-88

WELLAND – Humber men's basketball picked up its second straight win, dropping Niagara (2-4, 9th West) in overtime Thursday night, 95-88.

Khalid Ismail and Fowzi Mohamoud finished with a team-high 22 points, each, while Kevin Otoo recorded a double-double, finishing with 14 points and ten boards.

Trailing by seven after 30 minutes of play, the Hawks used a 21-10 run with 6:09 remaining to force overtime against Niagara. Humber's rally started on a deep three-pointer from Mohamoud and Ismail used a 5-0 run of his own to cut into Niagara's lead. Kevin Otoo's aggressiveness on the glass prevented the Knights from any second-chance opportunities as both teams went into the extra frame tied at 83.

After Niagara opened the scoring in the extra frame, Khalid Ismail took over, scoring seven of his 22 points in overtime. With 37 seconds left in the game, freshman Justus Salmon threw down an emphatic dunk to secure the victory for Humber.
