Men's Basketball Falls Late to Fanshawe, Dropping to 0-4

ETOBICOKE — Humber men's basketball dropped its 2019 home opener to the Fanshawe Falcons (3-2, 4th West), 94-88, Wednesday evening at the North Campus Gym.

DeQuon Cascart led the way for the Hawks finishing with 26 points, six rebounds, two steals, two assists and two blocks.

The Hawks held a slim lead going into the half despite only attempting one free-throw. Humber's offence was sparked thanks to some lights out shooting from deep, going eight-of-16 from beyond the arc after 20 minutes of play.

After the break, the Hawks were unable to continue their hot shooting and the Falcons were able to capitalize. Humber finished two-for-18 (11.1 percent) from three-point in the second-half and Fanshawe used a 7-1 run midway through the fourth frame to retake the lead for good.

Marko Maletic and Alfred Johnson combined for 54 points for Fanshawe, as the Falcons shot 41.9 percent from the floor in the win.
