MEN'S BASKETBALL RETURNS TO FORM WITH WIN OVER SAIT, 90-82

LANGLEY, B.C. -- After falling in the opening round of the 2019 CCAA National Championship, the Humber men's basketball team returned to form Friday afternoon, defeating the SAIT Trojans, 90-82.

All-star Jaylan Morgan finished with a team-high 20 points, while DeQuon Cascart finished with 18 points and six rebounds. Jordon Francis also finished in double-digits, adding 10 points on five-of-nine (55.6 per cent) shooting from the floor.

After jumping out to an 11-point lead in the first, SAIT's offence went on a 24-6 run over the next ten minutes of play to take its largest lead of the game. The Hawks responded with an 11-1 run of their own and went into the break leading, 42-35.

With 4:00 minutes remaining in the third frame, Curwin Elvis hit a free-throw to give the Hawks a 12-point lead - its largest of the game. A top-five program in the country all season long, the Trojans used a late run to trim Humber's lead to six at the end of the quarter.

With 6:55 remaining in the game, SAIT cut Humber's lead to two, 71-69, before Humber dug deep to seal the win. Jaylan Morgan hit a 3-pointer with 0:52 left in the game to ice the game, keeping Humber's medal hopes alive.
