No. 5 HUMBER SET TO HOST ST. LAWRENCE IN CROSSOVER GAME SATURDAY

The Storyline
No. 5 Humber men's basketball will make its 36th consecutive postseason appearance Saturday evening against St. Lawrence (7-12, 8th East). Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

The Matchup
As the top seed in the West Division, the Hawks (18-2, 1st West) will host the St. Lawrence Vikings for a crossover game. Humber will be meeting St. Lawrence for the fourth straight year in the postseason and has won all three previous meetings.

Scouting St. Lawrence

• After finishing the first half with a 1-9 record, the Vikings enter the postseason winning five of their last six games.
• Mohamed Omar is leading the team in scoring, averaging 15.5 PPG.
• As a team, St. Lawrence averaged 73.4 PPG – the fifth lowest in the league.
• The Vikings have never won a Division I provincial title. From 1987 to 1995, St. Lawrence won five Division II titles.

Previous Meeting
On Feb. 24, 2018, the Hawks cruised to a crossover victory over St. Lawrence at the North Campus Gym, 97-68. DeQuon Cascart recorded a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Jordon Francis and Fowzi Mohamoud finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

• The Hawks are 20-0 all-time in the OCAA postseason when playing at the North Campus Gym.

• Jaylan Morgan's 47.1 per cent (32-for-68) shooting from 3-point range is the best percentage in program history, surpassing assistant coach Chad Bewley's mark of 45.1 per cent (25-of-51) from 2014-15.
• The Hawks hit a league-best 224 triples this season, surpassing last season's program record of 184.
• Humber's 244 steals this season is the most in program history.
• Curwin Elvis finished his career with 90 career regular season games – the most all-time.

Freshman Phenom
A highly touted recruit from CTA, Kevin Otoo joined the Hawks with plenty of fanfare and did not disappoint during his freshman campaign. The Toronto native played in all 20 games this season, finishing second in scoring (225), second in rebounds (114), second in assists (114), first in steals (41), and first in blocks (18).

All-Timer
Senior Curwin Elvis finishes his career with 687 points – the ninth most in program history.

With a win over St. Lawrence, No. 5 Humber will advance to the OCAA Final-Eight, hosted by Georgian College, Feb. 28 to Mar. 2.
