No. 5 HUMBER DROPS REGULAR SEASON FINALE TO No. 8 SHERIDAN, 90-80

BRAMPTON, ON: The number five Humber Hawks (18-2, 1st West) men's basketball concluded their season with a tough 90-80 road loss against their long-time rival Sheridan Bruins (15-5, 2nd West).

The Humber College versus Sheridan Bruins rivalry is arguably the most historic and intense in the CCAA. The two schools have seen a lot of success with their basketball programs. Since 2000, these two programs have combined for 13 provincial championships and 26 combined titles since 1985. This match-up marks the 104th time the two teams have gone up against each other.

DeQuon Cascart led the way for the Hawks, scoring a team-high 20 points and six rebounds. Kevin Otoo had 14 points, Curwin Elvis scored 13 points, and Fowzi Mohamoud poured in 12 points. For the Bruins Nick Campbell, who leads the team in scoring, finished with a game-high 32 points and 7 rebounds. Kahleek Bakari-Whyte contributed 20 points in the Bruins win.

Curwin Elvis has reach the ironman milestone, becoming the first ever to play 90 games for the Humber Hawks men's basketball team. DeQuon Cascart also reached a milestone, as he became the 31st player in team history to score 500-plus career points.

What's Next?
The Hawks will host a crossover playoff game at the Humber Athletic Centre on Saturday, February 23 at 8 p.m. Their opponent is St. Lawrence College.
