WiNDSOR, Ont -- No. 3 Humber men's basketball (10-0, 1st West) continued their undefeated streak, defeating the St Clair Saints (3-6, 7th West) 96-86 to begin the second half of the season.

Playing without two key starters, Humber once again proved why its depth is one of its biggest assets. Despite the injuries, the team still managed to score 96 points, while finishing with 20-plus assists for five straight games. It has been a fun offensive system for the Hawks all year long, and it continued tonight, with five players finishing in double-digit scoring.

The Saints were looking to avenge the 29-point loss they took to Humber in their last outing. St Clair began the game with a 15-7 run, getting their crowd engaged early on.  David Gomez, who sits fourth in the league in points-per-game, started hot. He finished with a game-high 25 points - with 17 of those points coming in the first half.

It was a back-and-forth affair until Jaylan Morgan began to cook. The fourth-year forward - who leads the division in field goal percentage (62.5), had another efficient night. Morgan finished with 23 points, shooting eight-for-nine (88 percent) from the field, all of them coming in the first half of the game. His contribution helped the Hawks go into halftime with a 55-45 lead.

Jimmy Rich was huge coming off the bench for the Hawks. The rookie has been a highlight reel waiting to happen when he's on the court. Rich had two big slam dunks that fired up his teammates. The first-year forward finished with a career-high 14 points while shooting a perfect seven-for-seven from the field.

The Hawks maintained their lead the entire second half. St Clair managed to trim Humber's lead to single digits in the fourth, but it was not enough for a comeback. Tension rose near the end of the game for the Saints as they were hit with a technical foul. The Hawks kept their cool as they closed out the game extending their win streak to ten.

Humber has opened the season with ten straight conference wins, its most since opening the 2010 season with 12 straight victories.
