No. 3 MEN'S BASKETBALL SET TO HOST REDEEMER WEDNESDAY

The Storyline
No. 3 Humber men's basketball (7-0, 1st West) return to the North Campus Gym Wednesday to host Redeemer (6-2, 4th West).

The game will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network at 8 p.m. with Matt Hamel and Adam Lucier on the call, with Danielle Dupuis reporting from the sidelines.

Last Time Out
Humber led from start to finish, defeating UTM (3-6, 9th West) Nov. 21 in Mississauga, 91-77. DeQuon Cascart finished with a career-high 29 points in the win, while Jaylan Morgan finished with 21 points, shooting an impressive eight-of-nine (88.9 percent) from the floor.

Scouting Redeemer

• Last season, the Royals were one of the top programs in the country and featured OCAA Player of the Year, Rayvon Higdon.
• Redeemer knows how to get to the line and currently sits third in the league with 145 free throws made.
• The Royals average 19.0 turnovers per game, the 18th most in the OCAA.
• Redeemer is one of eight teams to average 90-plus points per game this season.
• Spencer Kerssies leads the Royals and is averaging a double-double this season. Through eight games, he averages 16.3 PPG and 11.0 RPG.
• Redeemer is 1-11 all-time at the North Campus Gym.

Previous Meeting
Humber knocked off Redeemer in the final four last season, 84-75. DeQuon Cascart, Fowzi Mohamoud, and Curwin Elvis combined to score 42 points for the Hawks, sending Humber to its 24th OCAA title game.

Last season the Royals swept the regular season series against the Hawks, picking up the programs first ever wins against Humber.

Moving On Up
Humber opened up the season as the ninth-ranked program in the CCAA. After seven straight wins – two over ranked opponents – the Hawks have moved up to No. 3 in the country.

Streaking
The Hawks have begun the season with seven straight wins, the most since opening the 2014-15 campaign with eight straight victories.

Exclusive Company
Senior guard Curwin Elvis sits 32 points away from becoming the 19th player in program history to join the 600-point club.

Efficient
Jaylan Morgan and Curwin Elvis currently sit in the top ten in the league in field goal percentage. Morgan is also second in the league in 3-point percentage, shooting 58.3 percent (14-for-24) through his first seven games.

Thievery
Freshman Kevin Otoo leads the team in steals and ranks sixth in the province, averaging 2.7 SPG.
