The Storyline
No. 9 Humber men's basketball (3-0, 2nd West) returns to the North Campus Gym Saturday afternoon for its 2018 home opener against Lambton (1-1, 5th West). Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

Last Time Out
Behind a career-high 20 points from freshman Kevin Otoo, the Hawks came from behind to beat Niagara (2-1, 4th West) on Nov. 1, 94-81. Second-half adjustments from first-year head coach Samson Downey saw the Hawks take the lead after the break to win their straight game to start the season.

Jaylan Morgan added 14 points, while Fowzi Mohamoud, Curwin Elvis, and DeQuon Cascart rounded out Humber's double-digit scorers, with 12, 11, and 11, respectively.

 Scouting Lambton

  • After beating Conestoga to begin the season, Lambton fell to Fanshawe on Oct. 24, 92-78.
  • The Lions are led offensively by Tyvell Peters, who is averaging 26.0 PPG.
  • Lambton is 1-14 all-time at the North Campus Gym.

Previous Meeting
On Jan. 19, 2018, Lambton won for the first time at the North Campus, escaping overtime with a win, 103-97. Trailing by seven points in the final frame, the Hawks were able to rally and force overtime but were unable to overcome the Lions in the extra frame.

Hand Outs
After shooting 66.8 per cent from the charity stripe last season, the Hawks are converting at a 75.8 per cent (47-of-62) clip to begin the season.

Elvis Is Still in the Building
In Thursday's win over Niagara, Curwin Elvis became the 31st player in Humber history to join the 500-point club.
