HAWKS DROP FINAL BUT LIVE ANOTHER DAY AS NATIONALS LOOM

WELLAND, ON: The Humber Hawks were unable to find the net late in the 2018 OCAA title game, and this dry spell led to a 74-63 loss to the number one ranked Seneca Sting.

Humber held a nice three point lead at the half, but found themselves down by four as the game entered the final frame. A nice run by the eventual champs put the game out of reach, as Humber, despite great defence at this point, could not close the gap.

Although Humber was unable to grab a hold of their 15th OCAA crown, they will still advance to the CCAA national Championships in two weeks time, in Quebec. Also of note, Humber was in a similar position three years ago and went on to win the CCAA title as the wildcard team.

DeQuon Cascart, who poured in a team second-best 15 points, was selected as Humber's Player of the Game. C.J. Bennett led the team, with 20 points (FG 7-13, 3P 3-5, FT 3-3).

Post tournament All-Star awards were presented to Kenny Ejim and C.J. Bennett.
