The Storyline
The No. 10 Humber men's basketball team (5-1, 3rd West) will wrap up its four-game homestand Thursday evening against Mohawk (2-4, 8th West). Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Hawks Sports Network.

Last Time Out
Despite a late second-half comeback, Humber was unable to overcome No. 6 Redeemer's lead, losing for the first time, 88-83. The Hawks shot a season-low 16.7 percent (4-of-24) from 3-point range while continuing to struggle from the free throw line as well.

C.J. Bennett finished with a game-high 26 points for Humber, while All-Canadian Rayvon Higdon and Nick Green combined to score 47 points for Redeemer.

Scouting Mohawk
After capturing the silver medal in 2016, Mohawk has struggled to find wins in the OCAA, putting together a 6-16 (.273) record since the beginning of last season. After winning consecutive games, the Mountaineers dropped its last game to Lambton, 85-72. Jordan Martin finished with a team-high 14 points, while three other Mountaineers finished in double-digit scoring.

Offensively, Mohawk is led by Lamar Barr who is averaging 12.4 points per game.

Last Meeting
42 points from the bench helped Humber cruise to an 89-77 win over Mohawk on Jan. 28, 2017. Fifth-year forward Ancil Martin finished with a game-high 21 points for Humber, while Tyrone Dickson recorded his eighth double-double of the season. Dickson finished with 19 points and ten rebounds.

Barr finished with 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting.

  • Humber is the second highest scoring offence in the province, averaging 105.2 points per game.
  • From deep, the Hawks are shooting 37.9 percent (50-of-132), the highest percentage in the OCAA.
  • Through six games, Kenny Ejim sits ninth in the association in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game.

Polling
When the first CCAA rankings were revealed on Oct. 31, Humber came in at number six, two spots behind the defending provincial champion Sheridan Bruins. After the loss to Redeemer, the Hawks fell to tenth in the country.

Century Mark
For the first time in program history, the Hawks have scored 100-plus points in five straight games to begin the season, surpassing its previous high of three, established during the 1994-95 season.

The 123 points scored against Sault was the second most in program history, falling 11 points shy of the record set during the 1990-91 season in a 134-73 win against George Brown. During that same season, Humber set the program record with seven 100-plus point games.
