HAWKS ENTERTAIN DENVER'S REGIS U FOR PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks men's basketball team will take to the floor at the friendly confines of the Humber College Athletic Centre much earlier than usual, as this Saturday they will host the Regis University Rangers. Regis is an NCAA Division II school, based in Denver, Colorado.
With official tryouts still weeks away, Humber's squad will feature a combination of returning and highly recruited players. This is an incredible opportunity for the incoming players to display their mettle in front of the coaches, and give themselves an upper hand as the team is constructed.
"This is a great opportunity for both schools, from more than just a competitive angle", said Hawks Head Coach Patrick Au. "The trip by Regis not only gives their team an early test on the court, but also gives the team a chance to experience a trip north of the border for team building and camaraderie. For us, we get an early look at the players we hope that will represent us this coming season, and they also get the opportunity to play against a team they normally will not see."
The tip is set for 5:00 pm, and as with all Humber Hawks home games, entry is free to all.
