SARNIA, ON -- Baljyot Judge scored a career-high 21 points, helping No. 9 Humber close out the regular season with an 84-66 victory over Lambton Sunday afternoon.
Ancil Martin recorded his sixth consecutive double-digit scoring performance, finishing with 15 points, while Tyrone Dickson finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Humber (12-4, 3rd West) recorded their tenth double-digit victory of the season, while holding their opponents to under 70 points for the ninth time this year.
The Hawks overwhelmed the Lambton Lions (3-13, 8th West) in nearly every category. Offensively, Humber dished out 25 assists and received at least one bucket from 10 different players. Defensively, the Hawks had 11 steals that it converted into 25 points and held the Lions to its lowest shooting performance in four games.
Again, Humber's bench answered the call, as the Hawks reserves outscored Lambton's 25-13.
After Humber opened the game on a 10-3 run, a competitive first quarter saw three ties and four lead changes.
The Hawks took the lead for good in the second quarter, outscoring the Lions 20-11 and went into half shooting 42.1 per cent (16-of-38).
Humber's lead grew to 27 points near the end of the game before the Lions went on a 9-0 run as time expired.
With the regular season now at a close, Humber finishes third in the west division and will host an OCAA crossover game Saturday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m.
GAME NOTES
- Humber will be making its 34th consecutive postseason appearance after finishing with a winning record for 20 straight seasons.
- Under the helm of first-year head coach Patrick Au, the Hawks defence led the OCAA in fewest points allowed (69.2 ppg).
- With their regular season careers coming to an end, Tyrone Dickson finished third all-time on Humber's career scoring list with 849 points. Teammate Gibson Eduful finished fourth with 823 points.
- Gibson Eduful also tied Clyde Walters (1978-83) with 88 career games played, most in program history. The iron man also finished with a program best 73 consecutive regular season games played.
