HAWKS HEAD ON THE ROAD TO FACE REDEEMER

ANCASTER, Ont – After beating St. Clair (4-5, 6th West) at home over the weekend, Humber men's basketball (5-2, 3rd West) will be heading to Ancaster for their last regular season road game of the fall semester.  Awaiting the Hawks will be the Redeemer Royals (2-3, 7th West), fresh off their win at Mohawk College (4-4, 5th West).

Behind a season-high 20 points from fifth-year forward Ancil Martin (Scarborough), the Hawks defeated St. Clair, 102-96, Sunday afternoon at the Humber Athletic Centre.  C.J. Bennett (Brampton) finished with a season-high 20 points as well in the win.

  • Sunday's win was Humber's first 100-point game of the season, their first 100-point game since November 2, 2014.

  • The Royals pulled off a 96-86 win at Mohawk Tuesday evening, picking up their first win over the Mountaineers in over six years.
  • Last season the Royals finished with a 6-12 record, finishing two points out of a playoff spot.
  • In their home opener against Fanshawe, the Royals set a new program record after scoring 108 points.
  • Redeemer is currently leading the province in three-point shooting at 42.6 percent (43-101).
  • Rochester native Rayvon Higdon is leading the Association in scoring and is averaging 29 points-per-game this season.
  • Six-foot-ten forward Spencer Kerssies is averaging a double-double this season, averaging 10 points and 10.8 rebounds-per-game.
  • Over the last five seasons, the Hawks are 10-0 against Redeemer. In their last meeting, Humber came away with an 82-77 win behind C.J. Bennett's team-high 14 points.  Rayvon Higdon scored a game-high 29 points in the loss.
