No. 8 HAWKS FALL TO No. 13 KNIGHTS

WELLAND, ON: The no. 8 Humber Hawks men's basketball (1-1, 4th West) program lost to the no. 13 Niagara Knights (2-1, 3rd West) 71-66 Thursday night in front of a large crowd at the Welland Athletic Centre.

Humber jumped out to the start they wanted and were leading 24-12 after the first ten minutes of play; however the Hawks were unable to hang on.

Despite the large deficit, Niagara continued to chip away and went into the fourth quarter trailing by eight.

In the fourth, Humber's offence went cold and the Knights took their first lead of the game with three minutes left to go.  With only seconds remaining, C.J. Bennett (Brampton) took a contested three to tie the game but the shot did not fall and the Hawks lost the game.

Tyrone Dickson (Scarborough) finished with 16 points in the loss and moved into a tie for eighth all-time in scoring for Humber basketball.  Ancil Martin (Scarborough) and Gibson Eduful (Toronto) finished with 14 and ten points respectively.

The Hawks will now have a week off before hosting the no. 4 Sheridan Bruins (4-0, 1st West) on Saturday, November 12th at the Humber Athletic Centre.
