REIGNING OCAA CHAMPIONS CONTINUE TO BOLSTER ROSTER

ETOBICOKE, ON: Head coach Patrick Au and the men's basketball program continues to demonstrate their recruiting range after signing high school all-star Chris Fields from Montréal, Québec. The five-foot-nine guard played ball with the Red Rush Basketball team, a program that enables team members to stay on track, athletically and academically, throughout the summer, as well as develop new leadership skills and engage in community service.

"Chris is an exceptional athlete," said Coach Au.  "With his speed and physicality on defence, he will quickly be able to transition to the OCAA." 

Fields has been playing basketball for over 12 years, racking up multiple accolades that include:  defensive player of the year, three-time most valuable player and Montréal Basketball League champion to name a few.

"Chris is an exceptional young man with a lot of potential," added Coach Au.  "We are all very excited to have him be a part of our program and to work with him on his development as a student-athlete."

At Humber, Fields will be enrolled in the Recreation and Leisure program.

"Humber is one of the best college's in Ontario; it was an easy decision for me," said Fields.  "I enjoy working with kids and that's why I will be taking Recreation and Leisure."

Fields is the fifth recruit announced by Coach Au this season, joining Endri Roshi (Tirana), Felix Frimpong (Rexdale), Jarod Stefaniuk (Grimsby) and DeQuon Cascart (Toronto).  Frimpong and the rest of the Hawks begin their exhibition season on August 9th, when Charleston Southern University (NCAA-DI) comes to the Humber Athletic Centre.
