HAWKS CONTINUE LONG HOME STAND ON SATURDAY WITH 2 KEY GAMES VS ST. CLAIR

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks women's softball team, now a perfect 4-0 at their new home of Connorvale Park, will continue an extended home stay after ten consecutive road games. They will host the first place St. Clair Saints, and although the Windsor team sits atop the standings at 13-3, Humber is only a single game away in the loss column.

LAST TIME OUT VS ST. CLAIR

The two teams met last week in Windsor, and after a tight one-run loss to St. Clair, the Hawks exploded for a 9-3 game two win. Humber outscored, out hit and out chanced the Saints in this match-up. Emily Erskine led the way with three hits, but it was the big blow by freshman Hayley Pasma that wowed the crowd. Her three-run home run was the icing on the cake within the victory. Myranda Pierson was credited with the win, surrendering a single run on seven hits in 4.1 Innings of work. Sara Stiller of the Saints suffered her first loss of the 2018 campaign.

SCOUTING ST. CLAIR

  • The Saints lead the league in runs scored at 130, but trail Humber in runs per game average by a slight margin – Saints (8.125), Hawks (8.35)
  • Prior to the Hawks win in game 2 of the doubleheader in Windsor last week, the Saints had won ten straight games
  • They have a nice blend of rookies (6) and veteran players (10), including one fifth-year star in Michaela Rilett
  • Head Coach Doug Wiseman is now in his seventh year leading his hometown squad
