The Storyline
The Humber softball team continues its ten-game road trip Wednesday evening when they head to Oshawa to take on the Durham Lords (3-1, 3rd OCAA) for a doubleheader. Game one is set for 6 p.m.
Last Time Out
Humber (4-0, 1st OCAA) swept Mohawk in a road doubleheader Sunday, by scores of 14-5 and 9-1.
The Hawks put up a season-high 23 combined runs on the day, including six RBI from reigning OCAA player of the year Aaliyah Davidson.
Scouting Durham
- The Lords have won three straight provincial titles, including a league-best 19 championships since 1981.
- Durham's pitching staff is led by all-star Ashley Black, who enters Wednesday's tilt with a 2-0 record, including two complete games.
- First baseman Sarah Seifried leads the team with a .615 batting average, along with six RBI.
Previous Meeting
Last season, the Hawks and Lords split the season series, with each team winning on their home diamonds. In their last meeting, Humber ace Rachel Matheson-Green held the Lords scoreless over seven shutout frames in a 1-0 win. Humber's lone run was scored on a sacrifice fly by Bonnie Gillingham.
Big Sticks
After leading the province in home runs last season, the Hawks continue to swing big bats, leading the OCAA with 69 total bases and 17 extra-base hits. In 17 plate appearances, Aaliyah Davidson leads the conference with 12 total bases of her own.

Humber's middle infield – comprised of Alexa Vassos and Meaghan Murphy – have turned a league-best three double plays in four games.

The Hawks have won four consecutive games to start a season on four occasions, but have never won five straight to start a year.
Mound Presence
After ending the season throwing the program's third no-hitter, Bree Donaldson has carried her dominant stuff into the 2018 season. In 9.1 innings so far, Donaldson features a microscopic earned run average of 0.75 with one win and one save.
Keep on Hitting
Humber hit queen Bonnie Gillingham enters Wednesday's tilt with a scorching .615 batting average (8-for-13) over the first four games. Gillingham sits atop Humber's all-time hits list with 120.
